Project work - Surface Design
- You will be producing one 'product' each
The designs should harmonize with the work you will do in the DP Project work (the poster, CD cover, postcard, etc.).
It should look good together with it, and should also work with your group partners surface design product. (You should be in the same group in SD and in DP)
You will need to liaise with your previous partner to make sure this happens, but the extent to which you work together is up to you.
- You are asked to make surface designs for one of the following:
- Flag
- T-Shirt
- Advertising/Bag
- Tie
- Design Specification:
The final design for the surface of your product must consist of at least two coordinating elements/motifs. These can be printed anywhere on the surface of the product, but their positioning must take into account how the T-Shirt relates the body, how the tie cuts the motif or how the bag expresses the advertisement with the help of your motifs.
N.B.: You are not allowed to just make a design in a rectangle that is just 'plonked' on the chest of the shirt!
- These are the topics you can choose from:
- Budapest/Hungary - from your point of view
- EDMM'08 - next city: Belgium
- Folk-art - as you like
- Design for the future - ecology, nature, recycling, protection, environment
- For your final presentation you should show:
- Sketches and developmental ideas including 'Thumbnails'
- The final printed product
- Print outs of your designs on paper
- A photograph of your product (we will want to keep a copy of this for our records)
